I created a toncoin exchange and accidentally sent $500 USDT on the toncoin network which should be totally fine considering they advertise:

"We will process your transaction even if you:
Send a deposit in the wrong network, if this asset is supported on our service"

The exchange did not complete however so I contacted support via email. For 2 months they have been saying that my case is "top priority" but they have done nothing.

I welcome everyone. I will be very happy if you read my review to the end. Here I will describe my experience using this site.

To begin with, I'll tell you about my problem. I wanted to transfer my funds from one cryptocurrency to another (neither in fiat, nor to a bank card). I use various investment sites and usually conquer a new wallet for each investment. A deal was made more than a year ago using OTC or P2P on this wallet. I honestly can’t remember or find or show where this deal was made simply because it was a year ago. I have no dialogues or screenshots of this trade. After creating an order on the Changenow website, I transferred my money to the specified wallet after which the progress of the transaction (as I understand it, they automatically indicate this) was changed to the "exchange of funds" (something like this) and froze. I wrote in the online chat on the site and they told me that I should write them by email. I tried to explain to them that I use work email and I can’t write from it that I have no personal mail for such cases.

From this moment I will add my thoughts and ask me to understand. I received one and the same message in online chat in which it was said that I should write to them by mail. Why is this chat created? Why can't a client help in this chat? Why should I write to you by email if you answer me right now in this chat and I am ready to solve the problem in this chat? I found some site for registering mail and registered there new mail specially for this. I wrote to them and received an answer that KYC should go on the website of their partners. Due to my work and working schedule, I could not immediately answer and apparently the site on which I registered the mail simply deleted my account. This is my problem and I admit it.

Then I created another mail and wrote on January 4 again with the message that I refuse to pass KYC and ask to return my funds to my wallet. Their rules on their site say: In case a client doesn’t wish to disclose their identity for certain reasons and refuses to provide the documents, the KYC/AML procedure is considered failed and the deposited funds are then refunded to the address (or addresses) the deposit was made from, subtracting the network fees, within 24 hours (I copied this). And they answer me that they requested KYC by mistake. They wrote to me for the first mail about this. The fact that I lost access to her is my fault. And I need to go through the AML procedure. I have to talk about these funds. I wrote everything that I remember and began to look for screenshots and any additional information but could not find and immediately mentioned that (trade with these funds was completed more than a year ago). Then they began their "investigation".

If you think that my problem is resolved, then you are mistaken. Every time after January 4, I wrote to them myself. Each time I received a message that their investigation is ongoing. Each time I was answered that I needed to wait for the responsible member Compliance Team. They do not work on weekends. They finish working until the US trading session closes. The end of my patience was the case of January 31 when they wrote to me at 6:03 pm and I answered at 6:10 pm. And no one answered me again. I wrote to them in a couple of hours and they told me “A member of our compliance team will respond to you within 1 business day”. Again. The client should wait until this responsible member answers me. Most of the time I just waited for answers although their site produces exchanges all the time and seven days a week. Soon they began to answer me at the end of their working day so that I was waiting for the answer "1 business day". They answered the same thing for a month and said that they were conducting their investigation. Today they again asked me to provide screenshots or something else to speed up work. We started with this. A month has passed. I said that I have nothing in my first messages.

In conclusion, I want to say that their responsible members do not do their job. They do not help you. They just don't want to help you. They do not care about you and your money. If you have a problem, most likely you will wait for 1-3 business days at best because support is not from compliance team just write that you must wait. It turned out that I do not have the opportunity to provide the screenshot they need. They cannot continue the exchange and cannot return the funds to my wallet. This is a situation without exit. I talked politely with them and wrote not so often to answer me for several days or not to answer at all (as is happening now). Today I answered their message within an hour and did not receive feedback. Their support works as it is convenient for themselves and does not want to help. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you never have a situation like mine. Because none of them will help you. I've been waiting for a month and my money is still with them. I hope this is all over.

At least, I got a very quick answer with excuses like "speed of deposit confirmation is beyond our control". But my deposit was confirmed by the blockchain within minutes and also moved soon to another address, so the problem seems to be another one. I will forget this issue now and keep my mind free for positive things like the upcomming BTC halfing.

They asked me to provide additional documents to proof the source of funds: Which I did. 186 days later (today) I'm still talking to the support. Her name is Charlotte. I told her now several times, that I already did the KYC. That I provided the additional documents (invoice) to proof the source of funds. It's impossible to talk to her. She is sending me sample texts over and over again and is asking for "Proof of funds" again. I provided everything I have. I exposed my whole identity to them. My ID. Did a video chat. Send them the customer invoice to proof source of funds. I did EVERYTHING and they hold my money since 186 days! I will now hire a lawyer and will send all the mail conversation, evidence, my ID and contact details, the invoice and the ETH addres to all well-known crypto news sites. I will enforce my rights and get my money back!

I have exchanged crypto tokens for beam tokens. The exchange status has been stuck on sending to you for almost 24hrs. The support team has basically stopped responding to.my emalls after saying the matter would be resolved in 10hrs. This is very distressing to say the least and from reading the threads below this is a common occurance.

Please kindly assist and expedite the matter with your support team. The service given so far is very substandard.

I executed an 100 usd order, they charged me 130 usd.

40 minutes passed and my deposit expired, my money got lost even though the 30% fees i paid.

I paid 130 usd, to receive 100 usd worth of bitcoin, that cant be located now. Your super huge fees wouldnt be a problem to me (thing unethical, usually others keep 1-2%, not 30%), if transaction had worked.

2 Days ago i used the changenow.Io website to do a quick swap of icp to matic. I was quoted 287.54530766 Matic for 40.38705 Icp. Therefore i went through with the transaction... Sending from my ledger. From my end, the transaction went through with no problem. However, on their website it got stuck on "confirming", even though it was confirmed on the blockchain long ago. I let it run overnight and in the morning it said: "the transaction was not completed. No worries, your funds are safe!" then it gave instructions on how to contact customer support. I did this. I was sent an email from their customer support, and began discussions about the issue. I gave them whatever information they required. After a few hours i heard nothing back from them. So i contacted them again to let them know i was growing impatient. They responded that they would notify me when their team could come up with an answer. Finally, it is the next morning and no word back yet.
On the blockchain it has gone through successfully. There is no doubt about it, they have received my money. Anyone can go here to see the transaction on the blockchain is completed successfully: transaction hash: 5cec614fa8f2a65daa3d259b9c8eab5c7e3f649c5c435cef5f5fabcddd14d80b

with that said, they did not ask me to kyc (which i would if necessary, as i have nothing to hide). The value of this transaction was about $280 usd, not enough to make me suffer financially, but enough to make anyone get upset about. This seems like a scam website. Users beware!

update # 1 (after 12 more hours)

customer support contacted me, and gave me a choice to either refund my coins, or put the transaction through using the latest quotes. I chose to put the transaction through using the latest quotes. They then respond to me that it would take up to 6 hours to receive. It is now close to 11 hours. Therefore, i send to them and ask them what is going on? they respond, asking me if i received their previous email {none exists) asking me to send them one icp if i wanted my refund address to be changed. I asked them no such thing! just send me my original icp to my original address! the incompetence is astounding! still waiting....

Update #2 (after 12 additional more hours)
now i get the story that they've been talking to someone via live chat that claims to be me, and has given them another icp address as a refund address, instead of the original one. To be clear to all concerned: only ever refund money to the original address that it came from. In this case, i i simply ask that my original icp are refunded to my original sending address. It is very clear, easy, fair, and secure for all involved. Yet they do not do this.

Update #3 — final verdict
they will not refund. Now they are back to the story that their provider is doing unscheduled maintenance again. It is excuse after excuse with this outfit. They stole my money. It is that simple. Stay clear of this outfit. It is a scam. I see they also scam their reviews. Please take note of the banner that trustpilot has also displayed about them. They are not following trustpilot's terms of service. This outfit likely makes up fake reviews for itself. Be warned... Scam.

I finally received my ICP. I want to thank the Administration of this site for making it happen. Also, as a warning to other users, even though I got my coins back, I had to go through hell to get them. Stay clear of changenow.io by all means possible. Clearly, although they give polite responses any time they do respond, they do NOT care about their customers. Any legitimate company would have quickly refunded their customer, and then worried about settling things with their provider after the fact. This is not the case with them. It literally took me spamming bad reviews all over the net to finally get my money back.

I dont care about you technical issues and as you can read in the previous reviews its not "one-time". When you hold my money by definition they are not safe because if you cant make swaps work then who knows how do you secure your app. If you cant give me output currency then just give me my eth back.
