I am looking to sell XMR (Monero) and receive USDT (Tether).

How can any authority request anything about a Monero transaction?. Monero (by design) is completely untraceable and anonymous. All addresses, balances and transactions are completely private. There is no way to check sender or find source of the coins, because the Monero blockchain is private by default. I'm sure you already know this.
So it is impossible to claim that the source of coins is related to anything illegal because you will never know about the sender's address. If I send you 100XMR, you will never know which wallet/address it came from. You will never know who sent it to you, or the source of the coins. So what is there to investigate? How can anyone investigate a transaction that is private-by-default?
