What is Turbo (TURBO)?

Turbo is a meme token originally issued in April 2023 under the ERC-20 standard on the Ethereum blockchain. The TURBO token later appeared in SPL format on the Solana network. The token was named after a famous frog mascot named Quantum Leap, an image of which was created using the Midjourney neural network.

The meme token does not stand out too much from most similar digital assets, but it has a unique history, and the project has become a kind of experiment.

The developer of the Turbo project, digital artist Rhett Makinde, explored the possibilities of artificial intelligence and used OpenAI's popular ChatGPT 4 to create the token. The challenge was to create a $69 meme token that would become a large and prominent crypto asset on the market. The developer followed all of ChatGPT's instructions and documented the process.

After creating Turbo, Makinde decentralized the project and handed over the right to manage it to the crypto community. According to him, he is no longer in control of the situation — other users can realize ideas much better than the creator of Turbo. Listing on exchanges and even creating Telegram chat were initiatives of the Turbo community.

Turbo tokenomics and market data

A total of 69 billion TURBO tokens have been issued, and all of them are traded on the market. The tokens were initially fairly distributed in a sale through the Ethereum smart contract, and a month later, in May 2023, they were listed on centralized and decentralized exchanges.

The Turbo meme token differs from other assets because it does not require tax charges during the initial sale or further transactions. Notably, the Turbo project even has a Whitepaper that can be downloaded from the official website - a rarity for meme tokens.

Otherwise, the project's website looks quite typical for this digital asset: the content is minimal, and there is no detailed description of the token itself or its functions and features. However, unlike the creators of most other meme tokens, the name of Turbo's developer is known, and he is not hiding from his community, being in constant contact with it.

As of November 2024, TURBO has no practical application options. All investors can do with it is buy and sell it on the market and add it to liquidity pools on decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap in the Ethereum network and Raydium in the Solana network.

TURBO's capitalization as of November 2024 is $580 million, which ranks the asset 120th on CoinMarketCap. The historical high of TURBO price was recorded in October 2024 at $0.013; in November, the meme-token rate decreased to $0.0088.
