Loaded Lions (LION): a synergy of GameFi, NFTs, and the Crypto.com ecosystem
Although the NFT boom is long over, new projects in this field — as well as assets associated with non-fungible token — continue to appear with enviable regularity. Some of them demonstrate enough potential to catch the attention of the crypto community and fight for a place in the sun. The cryptocurrency Loaded Lions is one of those.
What is Loaded Lions (LION)?
The cryptocurrency Loaded Lions (LION) is the native token of the NFT gaming project Loaded Lions: Mane City — a Web3 game whose creators are closely tied to the Crypto.com platform (a global cryptocurrency trading, storage, and usage platform with over 100 million users).
Launched in 2021, Loaded Lions: Mane City is an economic simulator inspired mainly by the famous Tycoon game series (strategy games where players develop and manage a business or infrastructure). Despite its clear affiliation with GameFi (projects combining gameplay with the opportunity to earn cryptocurrency), the game uses the globally familiar free-to-play model (free access with optional in-game purchases), which has played a key role in its popularity.
A central component of the game's ecosystem is the Loaded Lions NFT collection. Unlike most non-fungible tokens released during the "NFT boom," the tokens in this collection offer a range of functionalities. In addition to unique profile portraits for players, NFT holders receive in-game bonuses, a "ticket" to an exclusive community, and several other perks — including the right to receive regular rewards in the game's native tokens.
The need for regular reward distribution was one of the reasons behind the creation of the Loaded Lions (LION) token, which launched in March 2025.
LION is a token deployed on EVM-compatible blockchains Cronos and Solana. Functionally, it resembles many other in-game utility tokens: its primary use case is to purchase in-game items and resources.
However, beyond in-game value, LION also enables holders to earn through staking. The project team has already announced plans to integrate the token with Crypto.com's physical cards and to launch branded merchandise, which will be available for purchase with LION at discounted prices.
LION token market history
Public trading of LION began on March 4, 2025 — just one day after the token's launch on the Cronos blockchain and before its release on Solana, which occurred on March 6. The listing price was $0.002897 per token.
LION reached its all-time high on May 10, hitting a record price of $0.02847. Although the asset's price dropped significantly after May 11, it never returned to its listing level and has been showing a slow but steady increase over the past month.
As of July 23, 2025, the price of LION is $0.019, with a market capitalization of approximately $600 million. This places the asset at rank 209 on CoinMarketCap.
Loaded Lions prospects
The LION token has shown a high degree of stability and positive performance for a new asset. More than 4 months after listing, it's trading at nearly seven times its initial price, and there has not been a single major collapse in its trading history.
Undoubtedly, the key factor behind LION's stability is who stands behind Loaded Lions. Crypto.com is one of the most influential players in the cryptocurrency market, impacting not only market pricing but also the broader development of the industry. Combined with the popularity and ongoing evolution of the Loaded Lions: Mane City ecosystem, Crypto.com's support provides strong protection against any catastrophic collapse of the token in the foreseeable future — although corrections and temporary pullbacks are, of course, quite likely.
