An overview of SuperVerse (SUPER), one of the most promising Web3 gaming marketplaces
What is SuperVerse?
SuperVerse is a decentralized or, in other words, Web3 platform that combines NFT on blockchain and video games.
The main goal of SuperVerse's Web3 platform is to accelerate the adoption of Web3 technologies through video games familiar to many users. In this way, players are first immersed in the gameplay and gradually familiarize themselves with the possibilities offered by blockchain technology.
The project was founded in 2021 when their token called SuperFarm was released. In 2024, the SuperFarm team renamed their project to SuperVerse because there were too many user scamming cases due to the name's specificity.
The development of the SuperVerse ecosystem took place in three phases:
- Phase I — Decentralization (launch of staking and DAO). This is the first phase, which is complete as of October 2024. Every user who stacks Super tokens becomes a member of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) SuperVerse and becomes eligible to manage the ecosystem's products by voting. In addition, SuperVerse DAO members receive access to exclusive events, personalized offers, and additional privileges.
- Phase II — Integration. In this phase, SUPER tokens were integrated into some of the Web3 industry's most popular games.
- Phase III — Evolution. In this phase, the SuperVerse team plans to launch its own blockchain, but as of October 2024, this has yet to happen.
SuperVerse ecosystem
The SuperVerse ecosystem comprises an NFT marketplace and a video game store.
The NFT Marketplace, called GigaMart, is a marketplace through which users exchange non-replaceable tokens with each other. Each NFT user can obtain and use video games developed for the SuperVerse ecosystem.
The SuperVerse video game store is a hub for blockchain games. These games are developed by third-party developers, attracting users from the SuperVerse ecosystem. One of the first games in the SuperVerse center was Impostors, a multiplayer detective game that requires players to employ deductive methods to solve complex puzzles.
As of October 2024, more than a dozen games are already in the SuperVerse Center, including:
- Off The Grid,
- Metal Core,
- Avalon,
- Wagmi Games,
- Guild of Guardians, and others.
SUPER token
The primary native asset used in virtually all transactions involving SuperVerse gaming NFTs is the SUPER utility token. The token itself came into existence in February 2021, and as of October 2024, it trades at nearly its post-listing price on cryptocurrency exchanges — around $1.4.
The historical high of the SUPER token was recorded in March 2021 at $4.73, when the crypto market was at the height of the so-called "alt season," and the low was recorded at $0.07 in October 2023. Since then, the value of the SUPER token has increased about 20 times.
A total of 1 billion SUPER tokens have been issued, of which 498 million are circulating on the market. The capitalization of SUPER is $683 million, and as of October 2024, the token ranks 102nd in the overall cryptocurrency ranking by this indicator.
SUPER cryptocurrency does not have its blockchain: the asset exists only as an ERC-20 token in the Ethereum and Polygon networks.
Prospects for SuperVerse
Over the past year, the project, as well as its token, has demonstrated positive dynamics. This is due not only to the growth of the crypto market as a whole but also to the integration of the native token of the SUPER project into many games that have a reasonably large user base.
In addition, the number of such Web3 games will likely only grow, and the SUPER token will be in demand more and more, which may ensure further growth of the exchange rate of this asset. According to CoinMarketCap, SuperVerse has already secured its place among the top ten GameFi projects, surpassing the former leaders The Sandbox and Decentraland.
While the SuperVerse team has yet to release a detailed roadmap, they still have the next big step left — launching their blockchain. However, the launch date of their network is still unknown, but after that, the SuperVerse team's next steps will probably be presented.
