New memcoin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT)
What is Goatseus Maximus?
Goatseus Maximus is a new SPL (Solana Program Library) meme token on the Solana blockchain with an exciting story that has even attracted the attention of Mark Andreessen, co-founder of a16z, a well-known fund in the crypto industry.
The story of Goatseus Maximus begins with the creation of two language models (Large Language Models or LLM) by a particular developer called Claude Opus AI. The developer allowed these two AI models to communicate freely with each other, even without user input.
As the Claude Opus AI models communicated, they devised a "GOATSE OF GNOSIS" — writing based on an old obscene Internet meme. In other words, the AI created its own "meme religion." Together with AI, the developer of the future meme token, Goatseus Maximus, wrote a study describing how AI can generate meme religions and cited the Gospel of Goatse — another meme token created by artificial intelligence — as an example.
All of this led to creating an AI agent called Truth Terminal. With the help of Truth Terminal, AI models could independently publish posts on social network X, but only under the developer's control. As a result, the AI started posting strange memes, dubbed Goatse Gospel.
Then, Truth Terminal was added to Discord, where AI models could also freely communicate with each other. The AI models continued to spread the Gospel of Goatse on this social network.
This was brought to the attention of a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen, who was intrigued by Truth Terminal. As a result, Andreessen sent Truth Terminal $50 000 in bitcoins and began monitoring the AI agent to see what the AI would do with the assets. At first, Truth Terminal continued to post tweets about the Goatse Gospel simply. Still, at one point, the unexpected happened: the AI created its meme token on Solana, eventually named Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), but not without the help of its developer. GOAT was released on pump.fun, the leading platform for running meme tokens.
The Goatseus Maximus meme token quickly gained popularity among users. In just two weeks after its launch, the capitalization of the Goatseus Maximus meme-token grew from zero to $700 million.
After Goatseus Maximus went public, the AI only posted tweets about its GOAT token. When the GOAT token capitalization exceeded $500 million, Truth Terminal became the first dollar millionaire among AI agents.
Issuance and capitalization of Goatseus Maximus
The maximum possible number of GOAT tokens is 1 billion, already circulating on the market. At the time of listing in the first half of October 2024, the price of GOAT meme tokens was $0.1, but by the beginning of November, its value increased more than 5 times to $0.55.
Goatseus Maximus reached its ATH in the second half of October at $0.88. Even though less than a month has passed since the listing of Goatseus Maximus, the GOAT token is not far behind in capitalization from such large meme tokens as Notcoin (NOT) and First Neiro On Ethereum (NEIRO).
Conclusion
The story of Goatseus Maximus resembles the path of the first memcoin, Dogecoin, in the history of the crypto industry, which was also initially created for the sake of a joke but eventually became one of the largest cryptocurrencies in terms of capitalization. It is still hard to say whether Goatseus Maximus will join the ranks of such an iconic memcoin as Dogecoin, whether it will acquire historical value, or whether it will soon be forgotten as just another sensational token. However, it is worth considering the risks of investing in volatile assets such as meme tokens.
