BROCCOLI is a new memcoin released in February 2025. The Broccoli memcoin came about after the former head and founder of the largest crypto exchange in the crypto industry, Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), posted a nickname for his dog named Broccoli on social media.
This led to creating multiple meme tokens of the same name in different blockchains, such as BNB Chain, Solana, and Tron. On the launch day of the BROCCOLI token alone, at least 480 tokens with that name were created, 390 of which are on Four.Meme is the most popular token issuance platform in the BNB Chain ecosystem. However, BNB Chain's BROCCOLI became the first and foremost memcoin, leading to a substantial increase in activity on the blockchain.
On the first day after launch, BROCCOLI attracted more than 35,000 investors, and its market capitalization and trading volume reached $151 million and $1 billion, respectively. The very next day, the BROCCOLI token was listed on some well-known centralized exchanges such as Bitget and Gate.io, and its market capitalization rose to a record $254 million as of February 2025.
Although the BROCCOLI memcoin was released in honor of Changpeng Zhao's dog, the former Binance CEO himself had nothing to do with its creation. As with many other memcoins, the creator of the BROCCOLI token remains unknown.
About Broccoli token
One billion BROCCOLI tokens have been issued, and all are freely traded on the market. At the same time, the maximum number of BROCCOLI tokens is limited to the same 1 billion. BROCCOLI has a deflationary mechanism: the total number of tokens can only decrease over time. Even the developer of a BROCCOLI token's smart contract cannot change its code.
Although BROCCOLI is not even in the top 500 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap's February 2025 data, it is among the top 10 largest memcoins in the BNB Chain ecosystem.
According to data for the same month, the price of the BROCCOLI memcoin is $0.06, with a market capitalization of $59.5 million. The price of BROCCOLI reached its historical maximum on February 14, 2025, at $0.28 and decreased more than 4.5 times by the end of the month. Since its launch, the value of the BROCCOLI token has decreased by more than 66%.
For now, the BROCCOLI memcoin has no use cases. Users can profit from the token and transfer it to other cryptocurrency holders.
